Lead Product Designer - Mobile Application (hybrid)

At AirHelp, we’re on a mission to make air travel fair for all. As the world’s largest flight compensation company, we’ve helped millions of passengers understand their rights and claim what they’re owed after disrupted flights. Operating across more countries and handling more flight situations than anyone else, we lead the industry with our legal expertise, global reach, and deep commitment to passenger rights.

Now we’re entering an exciting new chapter and are looking for a Lead Product Designer to take full ownership of the design direction for our new mobile app - an essential product driving AirHelp’s next wave of growth. This is a rare opportunity to help build something high-impact from the ground up. You’ll influence not just how it looks and feels, but how it performs, scales, and shapes the way travelers engage with our services.

This is your chance to lead design where it matters most. You’ll work directly with product and company leadership to evolve the MVP into a bold, intuitive, and scalable experience. You’ll define the strategy, lead execution, and elevate the role of design across the business.

This role is a hybrid (2 days/week in the office) job opportunity in Kraków, Gdańsk, Warsaw, Berlin or Barcelona.

What you’ll drive:

  • Own end-to-end design of the mobile app - evolving the MVP and launching new features that drive real business outcomes.
  • Shape and lead product design strategy in close collaboration with product leadership, using research, behavioral data, and emerging trends to inform bold decisions.
  • Mentor and uplift fellow designers, driving a feedback-driven culture and helping others grow through clarity, craft, and shared standards.
  • Translate complex challenges into elegant solutions, balancing user needs, tech constraints, and business goals.
  • Spot and drive strategic opportunities, whether it’s a product innovation or an internal design process shift.
  • Communicate design decisions effectively, ensuring alignment and energy across teams and leadership levels.
  • Improve how we design, from tools to systems to workflows—making quality and velocity our default.

What you’ll deliver in the first 12 months:

  • Shape the future of stress-free travel – Craft a long-term mobile design strategy that positions the AirHelp app as a trusted travel companion, not just during disruptions, but throughout the entire journey.
  • Design and ship impactful features – Partner with PMs, engineers, and researchers to design, prototype, and launch new features that simplify claims, reduce friction, and proactively support users while they travel.
  • Raise the bar for mobile UX – Elevate the quality of mobile design through thoughtful critiques, design thinking workshops, and mentorship of peers across the product org.
  • Establish a mobile design system – Help build and scale a cohesive mobile design system in collaboration with the design systems team, enabling faster iteration and visual consistency.
What sets you apart:
  • A strong track record in mobile product design, including shipping impactful features end-to-end.
  • Experience building mobile products that perform at scale and drive measurable business impact.
  • Deep expertise across user research, design systems, interaction, and visual design, especially for mobile.
  • A portfolio that shows not just strong craft, but strategic thinking and product influence.
  • The ability to communicate complex ideas clearly across disciplines.
  • Experience in fast-paced, cross-functional environments, especially those involving external tech partners.
  • Mastery of Figma and modern design tools.
  • A passion for mentorship and helping others grow through systems, feedback, and example.
  • Fluency in English and comfort working in an international, impact-focused environment.
